Cindy is a trained educator and a specialist in classical Pilates, with more than a decade of teaching. She is certified in the classical system by Pilates Center of Las Vegas and Pilates Toolbox Company. Her teaching aims to understand movement by living it.

What is classical Pilates?

It's Joseph Pilates' original system: an order of exercises, transitions and equipment, with Mat and equipment practice to work from the centre. CÊNTRICA teaches with a constructivist method: understanding movement by experiencing it, with adaptations when the body needs them.

Estudio Duranza publishes Mat Pilates on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.: enrolment ₡10 000 and a monthly fee of ₡16 000 for 4 classes a month (one day a week). It's 450 m north of the Ciudad Quesada park, Altos de Carnicería Marato. Bring Mat and sportswear. What are the Pilates principles?

VIDA describes six principles: concentration, control, centering, breathing, precision and flow. It adds integration as a perspective that brings them together, not as a replacement for the six.

What is the Power House?

It is the organization of the center, including the abdominal wall, back, pelvis, glutes, pelvic floor, diaphragm and inner-leg connection. It does not mean contracting everything with maximum effort.

What does Scoop mean?

Scoop describes bringing the abdominal wall inward and upward without holding the breath. Its sensation changes with the position; it is not about hiding the abdomen for appearance.

Question 16

What is the difference between neutral spine and imprint?

Accepted Answer

Neutral spine preserves its natural curves. Imprint brings the lower back closer to the mat through a slight posterior organization of the pelvis and abdominal work, without forcefully flattening the back. They are options suited to the task and person.
